I was reading a Time magazine paragraph in the last few days and found that there is a thing called a skype phone that was sweeping the web.You would be astounded what these two intelligent sparks did to make themselves a small fortune, they sold it to ebay. You are probably wondering what I am going on about. Many know it as skype. This idea of calling someone for nothing over the internet is not a new one.
Basically then you will be able to chat to whoever you like whenever you like wherever they are in the world and can even see them if you have skipe and a webcam. It is essentail you get a rapid connection as quickly as you can.Great pictures are not guaranteed however if your connection is slow.
So I went on Ebay and guess what, they are peddling phones already due to skyp.We think skype has been in existence for a year to date and it is proving immensely popular.
Some of the commercial phone companies are already selling voip phone service..The question on everyones lips is will it last the distance. Will the world wide web spell the end for voice over ip.
My assumption is that it is still in its youth and inevitably will go through a time where a lot of different firms will come up with different ways to do this. The government will undoubtedly see the plusses and want to add money to their coffers by using voip.Skype has to make a buck or two as well and they do this by billing consumers who phone home to their landlines from their computer.
The next big thing which voip are making a bold move towards is the notion of web conferencing. Voice Over IP comes pretty close, except that it will be eventually typified as an internet phone service, ready to take that next step of video conferencing which gained a lot of attention years ago.
My opinion is that audio and video over the internet, especially over a broadband connection will see a shift in popularity. Some people claim that audio and video will be no big deal but I disagree, I think it will be massive.
But one thing is for certain, it's not just hype they're muttering about, and only time will tell if the general public will catch on when they get their free skype download. We will know fairly soon how it performs .
